ABOUT YARRAMBAT

Yarrambat is located 24 km northeast of the Melbourne CBD and has a population of approximately 1,700. With a strong history of gold mining and farmland, Yarrambat has now become one of Melbourne's affluent north eastern suburbs. Many of its properties have been constructed on large allotments within relatively close proximity to the City.

Living in Yarrambat provides access to great facilities such as cafes, restaurants, golf courses, sporting facilities and parks. You also have access to a range of great education providers nearby.

Due to its small population Yarrambat has a strong neighbourly spirit with residents often lending a hand to each other whilst maintaining their properties.

Prominent as a gold mining area in the late 19th century, much of the land was surveyed and cleared for farming once the mining boom subsided.

Yarrambat is named from a Woiwurrung word meaning "high hills" or "pleasant views".
