ABOUT SPRINGVALE SOUTH

Springvale South is a peaceful and family-centric residential suburb located approximately 24 kilometres southeast of the Melbourne CBD. While it shares a name and a boundary with the bustling activity centre of Springvale, Springvale South offers a distinctly different, lower-density lifestyle.

Springvale is defined by its quiet court-style streetscapes, an abundance of green reserves, and a strong sense of neighbourly spirit that has made it a "tightly held" enclave for generations.

The lifestyle in Springvale South is characterized by its stability and multicultural charm. The suburb is home to a significant Vietnamese and Greek community, which is reflected in the diverse local shopping strips at Heatherton Road and Athol Road. Residents value the suburb for its "best of both worlds" positioning: it offers the tranquility of a residential retreat while being only a 5-minute drive from the world-class markets of Springvale and the regional retail hub of Parkmore Shopping Centre. For recreation, the suburb is well-served by the Coomoora Reserve and the Alex Nelson Reserve, the latter of which provides extensive sporting facilities and a popular community playground.

A major milestone for the suburb in 2025 is the completion of Coomoora, a modern residential community at 15–29 Coomoora Road. Developed on the site of the former Keysborough College, this project has introduced 47 new energy-efficient townhouses and 16 land-only lots to the area. The development includes over 4,000 square metres of new public open space and landscaped parks, providing a contemporary living option that has successfully attracted first-home buyers and growing families who wish to remain in the area. Additionally, residents are looking forward to the upcoming SurfNPlay water park in neighbouring Dingley Village, which will be a significant regional attraction just minutes away.

Education is a central pillar of the community, anchored by Spring Parks Primary School (Valley Campus) and Athol Road Primary School. Both schools are recognized for their strong multicultural programs and community engagement. For secondary education, the suburb falls within the catchment for Keysborough Secondary College, while several prestigious independent schools in nearby Keysborough and Dingley are also popular choices. Connectivity is supported by a comprehensive bus network that links residents to the Springvale and Noble Park railway stations. For motorists, the Westall Road extension and the nearby Dingley Bypass provide rapid links to the city and the Dandenong employment corridor.

From a property perspective, Springvale South is a resilient and healthy market. The suburb is currently considered a "buyer's market" in some segments, with longer settlement periods providing opportunities for negotiation. With a high owner-occupation rate and a low turnover of properties, Springvale South continues to be a sought-after destination for those seeking long-term residential stability in Melbourne’s southeast.
