About Berwick

Berwick is a lovely suburb in the City of Casey approximately 37km south-east from Melbourne CBD via the Monash with a great mix of cafes, shops, parks and schools. Berwick has a strong reputation for well-built, beautiful homes. At the 2016 Census, Berwick had a population of 47,674.

Berwick is located between Narre Warren and Beaconsfield in Melbourne's outer south-eastern suburbs. Originally a prosperous agricultural and pastoral region in the 1800s, Berwick grew into a satellite town of Melbourne, eventually becoming incorporated as a suburb of Melbourne in the 1990s as a result of the district's burgeoning property development.

Berwick has a mixture of established properties and new estates and shopping complexes. With a variety of ancient buildings, groomed gardens, and streets lined with deciduous trees, the business centre along High Street and surrounding streets have a 19th-century English village appearance. The older North side of Berwick, close to Main Street and the suburb centre, has beautiful tree-lined streets and period homes. Main Street has cafes, boutique shops and restaurants where you can sit and enjoy the surrounds.
