About East Bendigo

Just an easy stroll from the main Bendigo township, East Bendigo is the little sister to its more prominent neighbour, yet still has a range of highlights including the presence of one of Victoria's largest regional airports.

The Town

Placed only 2km north-east of Bendigo’s city centre, East Bendigo is a quaint mix of residential and industrial, and extends north to the suburb of White Hills. Bendigo Airport is the defining landmark of the town, and is the largest capacity airport in north-east Victoria. Bendigo Airport offers a range of regional routes and in 2019 began flying directly to Sydney via Qantaslink. The suburb also offers affordable housing from modern builds to period classics, and is becoming a popular area to buy in thanks to its close proximity to the main Bendigo town.

From mini golf to dodgem cars, The Zone Fun Park (1 Gildea Lane) offers a range of activities that will excite kids and adults alike. Where To Eat And Drink

Pies, pies, and more pies are the order of the day at The Elmore Bakery (6/23 Kennedy Street). Scrumptious doughnuts, Yogo Chocolate pies, apple turnovers, and hearty pasties are just a few other menu highlights that will put a smile on your face. Eagle Pizzas (91-97 McIvor Street) was started in 2005 by Chris and Amy Rosetta (when they were known as Eagle Boys), and they continue to this day to serve the freshest and most delicious slices in the area (their lamb and chicken souvlaki pizzas are genuinely amazing, and they also have a store on Marong Street in Bendigo). If you’re after a morning latte with a side of a sweet biscuit or two, Eastside Café (40 Strickland Road) is the place to be, with this relaxed joint also enjoying alfresco seating at the front.
