Public bus services connect the suburb with neighbouring areas, while the ongoing North East Link project is set to enhance local connectivity with road upgrades and new walking and cycling paths.
Schools & Education
Watsonia offers excellent educational facilities. Watsonia Primary School provides modern classrooms and green outdoor spaces. Greensborough College, formerly known as Watsonia Technical School, caters to secondary students with a variety of academic pathways. Loyola College, a well-regarded Catholic secondary school, is located on a 27-acre campus within walking distance of the train station.
Amenities & Lifestyle
Watsonia Village is the heart of local activity, offering over 50 shops, cafes, health services, and community venues. Watsonia Library serves as a hub for learning and social events, with modern facilities including a children’s area, community rooms, and tech services. Local parks like Binnak and Watsonia North Park offer plenty of green space, while nature trails such as the River Gum Walk Trail and Gresswell Forest provide further outdoor appeal.
Community & Lifestyle
The suburb has a close-knit community with regular local events, including classic car shows and local sports. Watsonia has a strong reputation as a peaceful, friendly place to live, ideal for families and retirees. While the nightlife and café scene is modest, the strong transport links and recreational options make up for it.
