Beginning his career with 16 years in retail, Tense developed a strong foundation in sales and leadership before transitioning into real estate in 1993 in Mildura. Despite early challenges in a commission-based environment, he quickly established himself, going on to become a business partner within seven years and later a respected principal director. Over the course of his career, he has successfully navigated market shifts, built high-performing teams and played a key role in growing his business into a leading office within the network.
After bringing his business into the Barry Plant network in 2010, Tense drove sustained growth, establishing Barry Plant Mildura as one of the leading offices in the group. Drawing on his experience as both a high-performing agent and business owner, he built a reputation for consistency, strong leadership and a people-first approach.
In 2026, Tense transitioned from sales into a corporate leadership role, joining Barry Plant Head Office as Head of Growth. His move followed a carefully planned succession, ensuring the Mildura business remains in capable hands while he takes on a broader role supporting the wider network.
